Encore Grip and Forend Styles
I have been making grips and forends for the Encore for some time now. I just haven't been advertising them a whole lot .... I wanted to make sure I had enough feed back on then to be sure of what doing. I have three grip styles and four forend styles. All of the feed back I have been getting has been favorable so, I guess it's safe enough to put them out their. I hope you find something you like.
The grip styles for the Encore are basically the same styles I make for the G2 frame. Due to the fact that the Encore has a thicker frame than the Contender and G2 it's harder to make a grip for the small handed shooter. I get emails all the time about folks having a hard time reaching the trigger on the Encore. If the factory wood grip is to big for you I'm not sure I can help ... we can discuss to see if we can work something out for ya. I can alter my patterns to cut them with a slimmer profile ( or thinner if you will ) which may help on the trigger reach problem.
Important Information about Encore Forends Please read ! ! !
At the present time I only set the Encore forends I make to use the Stratton Custom H-bar for mounting the forend. These H-bars are a good solid way of mounting a forend on the Encore barrel and a good way to free float the barrel. You can go to the Stratton Custom web site to see a nice write up explaining the benefits of his H-bar www.strattoncustom.com The H-bars come in all the most popular barrel contours from 15" factory contour to the 1" bull. I don't stock these H-bars myself because of all the different contours but, they are readily available from Stratton Custom.
"Jimbo" grip right hand only
The Encore Hunter forend is about 10" long
"Herrett" grip right or left hand with
"Big Snobby" The forend is about 10" long and 2" at widest
Encore "Jimbo" grip and "Wedge" forend
The "wedge" forend is about 10" long and 2" at the widest point
Encore Amby grip and Target Forend
Standard
size on the target style forend is 10" by 2 1/4"
